The Tarpeggios are one of UNC's newest co-ed a capella groups, founded in 2010.
The Tarpeggios mission statement (statement of purpose) is as follows: To enrich the UNC-CH community and corresponding artistic environment through musical performance, with an emphasis on combining content diversity and meticulous musicianship with humor and popular cultural themes through musical performance and performance-related service. This statement indicates that The Tarpeggios will not only provide a new singing group in the presence of very high demand for a cappella on campus, but will provide a diversity of musical style and membership that has not yet been provided by similar groups.
